Sidekick can connect a Slack channel to a Room. When someone mentions Sidekick in that channel, the Slack thread is added to the connected Room.

Start work from Slack

1

Open the connected channel

Use a channel that a Room owner has connected to Sidekick.
2

Mention Sidekick

Mention Sidekick and say what you need. Sidekick reads the Slack thread only when it is mentioned.
3

Continue in the Slack thread

Reply in the same Slack thread to keep working with its existing context.
4

Review it in Sidekick

Open the connected Room to find the thread, its participants, and its activity. Threads that started in Slack carry a Slack marker and can be filtered in the Room.

Know where replies appear

Messages sent from Slack stay connected to that Slack thread and are recorded in Sidekick. Messages added later from the Sidekick web or desktop app are not sent back into Slack. Disconnecting a channel keeps its existing threads in Room history, but those Slack threads cannot resume through a later reconnection.
