A Scheduled Task is saved work that wakes Sidekick when one of its triggers fires. Each invocation starts a fresh cloud Thread and uses the same tools, connections, model policy, and workspace restrictions as the rest of Sidekick.

Create a Scheduled Task

Select Scheduled Tasks → Create with Sidekick, then describe the outcome and when it should run. Sidekick prepares a review card before anything is activated. You can also use Manual setup to enter the same definition directly. Before activation, review:
  • the objective Sidekick should complete;
  • one or more triggers, where any matching trigger can start the task;
  • the connections and tools delegated to unattended runs;
  • whether model selection is automatic or pinned.

Triggers

You can use:
  • Recurring: a repeating schedule in your profile timezone or another timezone you choose.
  • One time: a single future date and time.
  • App event: a supported event from a connected app.
Provider-supported event settings, such as a Gmail label or sender, are applied before events reach Sidekick.

Runs and history

Every invocation creates a new Thread. Scheduled Task Threads stay out of general Recents and appear in the task’s activity history instead. Only one run is active for a Scheduled Task at a time. Events that arrive while it is running are kept for a later run. If a required connection or delegated capability becomes unavailable, future runs stop and the Scheduled Task moves to Needs attention.

Manage Scheduled Tasks

The Scheduled Tasks page lets you inspect status and trigger health, review run history, run a task immediately, pause or resume it, edit it, and delete it. Changes apply to future runs. A run that has already started continues with the version it started with.
