# Slack and Teams

> Bring Sidekick into your team's chat tools.

You can talk to Sidekick from Slack and Microsoft Teams the same way you would from the app: mention it, and it replies in the conversation. This page covers starting and continuing work from chat.

## Start or continue a thread

<Steps>
  <Step title="Mention Sidekick">
    In a channel or direct message, mention Sidekick and say what you need.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Keep going in the same conversation">
    Reply in the same thread to continue the work. Sidekick picks up where the conversation left off, the same as it would in the app.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## One ledger, wherever you work

A thread started from Slack or Teams keeps the same transcript as a thread started from the app. Nothing forks into a separate copy: the activity ledger, the outputs, and the conversation all stay on one record, no matter which surface you used to reach it.
