# Organization and workspace

> How Oximy models the company, dashboard membership, employees, departments, managers, devices, and product access.

The workspace is the customer boundary for Oximy data, configuration, integrations, products, billing, and audit history.

## Dashboard members and observed people

Oximy keeps two concepts separate:

| Concept          | Meaning                                                                  |
| ---------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| Dashboard member | A person who can sign in to administer or use Oximy |
| Employee | A person represented in the company’s AI activity and organization model |

A dashboard member may also be an employee, but the records serve different purposes. This separation lets administrators manage the observed company roster without granting every employee access to the dashboard.

## Departments and managers

Departments organize adoption, spend, activity, and access. Administrators can assign employees to departments and associate managers with the departments they oversee.

Manager access is scoped to the relevant organization boundary. Company-wide administrative capabilities remain restricted to workspace administrators.

## Devices and accounts

People can be connected to organization-managed devices, provider accounts, personal accounts, and agent principals. These links feed the identity graph so activity from different sources is attributed consistently.

## Workspace defaults

Organization settings include company identity and workspace-wide defaults such as timezone. Product access and entitlements determine which Visibility, Sidekick, and Relay surfaces are available in the workspace.

<Info>
  Authentication membership and product identity are related but distinct. The identity provider establishes who can sign in; Oximy applies workspace, product, role, and organization scope after authentication.
