# Manage Visibility access

> Create data-access policies and assign them to the people who use Visibility.

Use **Settings → Roles & Access** to control which Visibility rows and financial
fields a person can see. These policies are separate from the Member, Admin,
and Manager roles used for workspace administration.

Open an existing assignment to **Change policy** or remove the grant.

## Create or change a policy

Use the **Policies** tab to create the default policies or select
**Create policy**. Configure the row scope:

* all employees;
* the person's own employee record;
* departments the person manages; or
* explicitly selected departments.

Configure financial visibility separately, then save the policy. Editing a
policy changes the effective access of its current assignments.

<Warning>
  A Visibility policy does not grant workspace administration. Use
  **Settings → Members** for Member and Admin roles, and Departments for
  manager ownership.
